Warning signs

Recognising the problem early makes support simpler. Pay attention if you:

  • bet more than you planned or more than you can afford to lose;
  • try to recover losses with new bets;
  • use money from bills, debts or loans to bet;
  • hide from family how much you play or how much you lost;
  • fail to meet work, study or family commitments;
  • feel irritable, anxious or unable to sleep when not betting.

  • set spend and time limits before you start;
  • only bet what is left after essential expenses;
